| Weekly Sessions... |
| In Maimonides, students convene for one 2 hour and 15 minute seminar each week on Tuesday Evenings at the Danforth University Center (7:45-10 PM). |
| Each session is divided into 2 segments: |
Segment #1: Main Curriculum - presented by your Maimondes Rabbi Segment #2: Guest speaker (1 hour) |
| The Main Curriculum... |
 | Love and Relationships | | Community | | Hidden Worlds - Body & Soul, This World and The Next | | Maimonides' 13 Principles of Judaism | | Qualities of Leadership | | The Secret of Real Beauty | | Defining Spirituality | | Meditation and Prayer | | The Pursuit of Happiness | | Keeping Inspiration - 3 Stages of Growth | |
| Guest Speakers… |
Our guest speakers are experts in the fields of finance, ethics, medicine, environmentalism, literature, philosophy and science, as well as leaders and activists who work tirelessly for the Jewish people. Their common denominator is that they all share a passion for Judaism, and they come to us to share their unique insights into our heritage. To read about past guest speakers click here |
| Two “Shabbatons, and a Final Banquet... |
| The Fellowship allows students to experience transformational off-campus excursions, such as traditional full Shabbat experiences, and a formal graduation dinner where students share their impressions of the program and receive their graduation certificates and stipends. |
| Journal Entries... |
| Students are asked to submit one journal entry a week, reflecting on that week's experiences. They can be 5 pages, 5 paragraphs, or even just 5 lines. The main thing is that they’re personal, serious, and insightful. Your local Rabbi is encouraged to respond to each journal entry. |
| Continuing Education Cash Stipend… |
| Upon completion of the Fellowship, students are awarded a $300 stipend. The stipend is given in order to foster commitment to the Fellowship in light of all the other extracurriculars and to encourage students to prioritize the Fellowship seriously and organize their calendars accordingly. Additionally, students are encouraged to use the stipend as a means to manifest the Jewish education they are getting - whether through giving some or all of it to charity, through building a Jewish library for themselves, or giving themselves the opportunity to go on an Israel trip. If a student needs the stipend for personal expenses, no questions are asked. The Fellowship stipend is prorated based upon attendance and is disbursed upon successful completion of the program and completion of a program survey. |
| In Summary... |
| The Maimonides Leaders Fellowship provides a Judaism that is relevant and empowering, sophisticated and energizing. It lets Judaism speak for itself, from texts that are wise and sensitive, while responding to students’ questions and curiosities. |
